BasicsWhat is Boomsday?
A top-down horde-survival shooter. You play a tiny, adorable 3D model with an enormous arsenal, holding off endless waves of equally adorable enemies that lunge, spit, charge and explode. 17 guns, 36 perks, 54 enemy types, 12 bosses and up to 8-player co-op in Early Access today, with more of everything on the way. It is cute. It is extremely violent. Both on purpose.
BasicsIs it for kids?
No. Genuinely, no. Despite the round little characters, Boomsday is made for adults: frequent blood, gore, and dismemberment. If the art fooled you, the first ten seconds of play will not. Rated for mature audiences.
PlatformsWhat can I play it on?
Windows, Mac, and Linux right now, in Early Access on Steam. Android and iOS are on the way. Every platform cross-plays with every other, so nobody gets left out of a match.
PlatformsWhat does Early Access actually mean for me?
The game is real and fully playable today, with everything listed above. It is not finished: three modes (Classic, Chaos, Dungeon) are live, six more are in the works, and more bosses, guns, perks, enemies and the mobile release are still coming. Buying now means you play now and grow with it. Prices may rise as the game fills out.
Co-opHow does co-op work?
Up to 8 players, three ways. Couch: a second controller drops in on one screen. LAN: host on your network, friends join by IP. Online: Steam invites, make a squad, ready up, go. It is host-authoritative and fully cross-play, so a phone and a gaming PC can share the same run.
ControlsDo I need a controller?
No, but it is fully supported everywhere, including on phones, and you can remap everything. Keyboard and mouse work great too. Use whatever is in reach.
LanguagesWhat languages are supported?
Eleven, fully localized from the menus to the damage numbers: English, Simplified Chinese, German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Russian, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, and Polish. The screams need no translation.
SavesDoes my progress save? Is there a campaign?
Boomsday is a roguelite. A run is one session: you drop in, get powerful, and eventually die. Runs do not save partway through, on purpose. Your high scores and records persist between sessions, so your bragging rights survive even when the run does not.
PerformanceWill it run on my machine?
It is built to be light. The whole point of the technology is holding a smooth frame rate with hundreds of enemies and bullets on screen, down to mid-range Android phones. If you can comfortably run a browser with a few tabs, you can almost certainly run this.
ProblemsI found a bug. What do I do?
Tell us. Use the form below, pick Bug report, and describe what happened and what you were doing when it did. Your platform and a screenshot help a lot. It goes straight to the team.
PurchasesCan I get a refund?
Purchases go through Steam, so Steam's standard refund policy applies (generally within 14 days and under two hours played). Refunds are handled by Steam directly, not by us, through your Steam account.
CommunityWhere is everyone?
Discord. It is where announcements land, where players find squads, and where we actually read what you write. The link is in the top bar and the footer.
CreditsWho made this?
A very small team with an unhealthy interest in explosions. That is all anyone needs to know.
